The extension solves reCAPTCHA v2 image challenges only. It needs a headed browser or a virtual display such as xvfb-run. Google Chrome 137 and newer ignores --load-extension, so use Chromium, Chrome for Testing or the Chromium that your tool installs.
Works with Playwright for Node.js and the same flags work in Playwright for Python.
99.7 % of sessions on Google's public reCAPTCHA demo got a token within 3 fresh challenges (299 of 300, October 2026). Results on other sites can differ.
The extension is free to download. It uses your API key, so solves count against your quota.

Questions

Does the extension solve captchas other than reCAPTCHA v2?

No. The extension solves reCAPTCHA v2 image challenges only. For text captchas, GeeTest and FunCAPTCHA, call the API from your code.

Does it work in headless mode?

Extensions need a headed browser or a virtual display such as xvfb-run. Plain headless Chromium does not load them.

How much does it cost?

Each successful solve costs $0.10 per 1,000 (net) from a prepaid balance, and the first 100 per day are free. The extension uses your normal API key and quota.

Can I call the API from Playwright without the extension?

Yes. Take a screenshot of the challenge, send it to the reCAPTCHA endpoint with the task text and grid size, then click the tiles that come back as true. The reCAPTCHA docs show the request.
